<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: so everything passed on windows except you still haven't gotten the jetty-console.jar to work?10:04
<osmandin>mikeAtUVA: yes.10:05
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: did it fail on another windows machine, or just the first one?
osmandin: I was able to get the jar to run on a public windows 7 workstation at our library...10:06
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: I'm in the process of getting it to run on another machine. I'll post here in about 15 minutes.
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: great. Thanks!

<ruebot>fcrep4 ontology question: hasFixityService is that the type of checksum? so in fcrepo3, if I am using SHA-1, the value would be SHA-1 and then I would use computedChecksum for the value of the checksum?10:31
* mikeAtUVa doesn't know anything about the fcrepo4 ontology... maybe ajs6f can help.10:33
<ajs6f>ruebot: Not sure what to tell you. I don't think that predicate should even be in the ontology. I don't know who put it there. Try using git blame to find out who introduced it and contact them. But be aware that as API partitioning proceeds, we'll be getting rid of a lot of that kind of non-core stuff.10:34
<ruebot>@_@10:35
<ajs6f>ruebot: What does that mean?10:36
<ruebot>oh, just a frightened/scared look :-)10:37
<ajs6f>ruebot: What is frightening?
<ruebot>ajs6f: the movement. but, that's fine, since we haven't migrated yet.10:38
<ajs6f>ruebot: Keep in mind: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/FF/API+Partitioning
<ruebot>ajs6f: the ontology is in it's own repo right, not https://github.com/fcrepo4/fcrepo4
ajs6f++10:39
<ajs6f>https://github.com/fcrepo4/ontology/
ruebot: There too much in there now, but we're supposedly waiting on clarity about the varioud fcrepo Github orgs to move things where they should go.
<ruebot>ajs6f: i guess we get to blame awoods for the predicate https://github.com/fcrepo4/ontology/blame/88766107f78a5d7fd1ebc3044142ea9034617e61/repository.rdf#L76710:40
ajs6f: ah, yes. i remember that discussion.
<ajs6f>ruebot: Then you might ask him what it's for or what it means. Or maybe look at some live examples and see if it sed, and if so, how. In any event, if you find out what it means, a PR with a rdfs:comment to that effect would be appreciated.10:41
s/sed/used
<ruebot>ajs6f: will do! I have a signed iCLA so I can officially do it now :-)10:42
<ajs6f>ruebot: Excellent.

<f4jenkins>Project fcrepo4-T2 build #185: UNSTABLE in 4 min 46 sec: http://jenkins.fcrepo.org/job/fcrepo4-T2/185/10:52
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: I'm getting the same behavior on a different computer, but I think it's some launcher security setting somewhere. I'll try on a personal windows laptop by 6 pm, and will update the wiki in case I run into an issue. (I doubt there's a problem.)10:54
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: do you think I should wait until tomorrow to proceed with the release?10:55
<ajs6f>mikeAtUVa/osmandin: If this is a common/normal Windows problem, perhaps we might document the workaround (once it is found).10:56
* dwilcox leaves10:57
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin, ajs6f: I'll test it on some different windows setups around our library and if it consistently works I'll go ahead and release, and look to hear the resolution from osmandin, either prompting publication of a workaround or a ticket to devise one.11:00
<ajs6f>mikeAtUVA++
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: If you're able to build it on windows and run that jetty console jar on windows, then there's no blocker as such11:01
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: I didn't build it on windows... no maven on the public workstations... I ran the artifact built in linux.11:02
osmandin: which is analogous to the release, where we anticipate windows users will download the jar file from our github release. If they can build the software they won't likely use the single click run.11:03
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: Yes, you're right. that's the purpose of the jar file,as I understand it.So, in that case, we're good to do.11:04
* whikloj joins11:05
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: could you quickly test a jar file build in linux on a PC, or do you have to run somewhere else?
... rather test it on windows.
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: I don't have a problem with other jar files. I think it's maybe it tries to launch a window?11:06
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: it does... and the error looks like the type you might get in a headless environment.11:07
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: I have arranged another machine. I should be able to report back by 1 pm. Does that work for you?
mikeAtUVa: that is, a non-department laptop.11:08
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: sure... better safe than sorry, right? I appreciate your help.

<osmandin>dilcox: I didn't get a chance due to rc testing. here it is:12:38
dwilcox: [sprint update] Yesterday: worked on helping test 4.1.1-RC on windows. Today: plan to work on fcrepo-1396. Blockers: none.12:39

<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: I wasn't able to run on a laptop either.13:02
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: alright, could you provide as much information has you have (windows version, java version, how you launched the app, how you built the app) on the wki page for the testing?13:03
osmandin: also, could you test a version of the jar file that was built on your mac and successfully ran on the mac to see if that works?
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: ok, I'll report back on the mac jar shortly13:04
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: thanks!

mikeAtUVa: I'm able to run OK on my windows machine the jar built on mac. I also built 4.0.0.RC on win, and got the same issue as 4.1.1.RC (although that's a .war)13:16
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin: alright, could you make a quick note of that on the wiki and write up a jira ticket for the problem you're seeing on the windows-built, windows-run single-click installer?13:17
<osmandin>mikeAtUVa: yeah, that sounds reasonable
<mikeAtUVa>osmandin++ thanks!13:18
