<cbeer>i'm not sure if pivotal is sending webhook messages.17:35
<mohamed>Hi all. This is Mohamed from University of Maryland. I'm in the Fedora 4 sprints starting today. I'm trying to put together a test case as my first task in the sprint, and I have a dependency problem.17:37
I'm having trouble importing org.fcrepo.kernel.utils.TestHelpers.setField to the Test class I'm creating in the https://github.com/fcrepo4/fcrepo-module-auth-xacml project. The TestHelpers class could not be resolved. The project pom does include fcrepo-kernel-impl dependency with "test" scope.
Appreciate your advice!

<awoods>mohamed: did you also include: <classifier>tests</classifier>17:47
mohamed: i.e.17:48
<dependency>
<groupId>org.fcrepo</groupId>
<artifactId>fcrepo-kernel-impl</artifactId>
<version>${project.version}</version>
<classifier>tests</classifier>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>

Andrew Woods unstarted "Change name of fcrepo-jms-indexer-pluggable" https://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/7455853817:49
<mohamed>The pom already has it.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.fcrepo</groupId>
<artifactId>fcrepo-kernel-impl</artifactId>
<version>4.0.0-beta-02-SNAPSHOT</version>
<scope>test</scope>
<classifier>tests</classifier>
</dependency>

<awoods>mohamed: hmm... org.fcrepo.kernel.utils.TestHelpers is resolving for me.17:51
mohamed: does the maven commandline fail?
mohamed: or your IDE?
<mohamed>Both17:52
The command line works now. I have added a second dependency to the that project with <type>test-jar</type>.17:54
Now, I have:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.fcrepo</groupId>
<artifactId>fcrepo-kernel-impl</artifactId>
<version>4.0.0-beta-02-SNAPSHOT</version>
<scope>test</scope>
<classifier>tests</classifier>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.fcrepo</groupId>
<artifactId>fcrepo-kernel-impl</artifactId>
<version>4.0.0-beta-02-SNAPSHOT</version>
<scope>test</scope>
<classifier>tests</classifier>
<awoods>mohamed: this works for me, without any other changes to master: https://github.com/awoods/fcrepo-module-auth-xacml/compare/test-helpers17:57
mohamed: which version of maven are you using?18:03
<mohamed>maven 3
<awoods>mohamed: good18:04
<mohamed>Sorry, it was my ide causing the problem
<awoods>mohamed: IDEs... a bunch of trouble-makers
<mohamed>It did not resolve the dependency and deleted the import statement on save leading the command line maven test to fail.
@awoods: Thanks!18:06
<awoods>mohamed: That reminds me, if your IDE is performing auto-updates, please ensure that no "formatting" changes are included in your Pull Requests unless they are on lines to which you are actually making functional updates.
<mohamed>awoods: I had configured the IDE's formatting setting as per the #GuideforNewDevelopers wiki page. I verify my diffs before committing to make sure that doesn't happen.18:10
