Where can I find documentation on fc4 relationships? Including what deleting objects with relations and such works.
<escowles>terrellt: the rels-ext predicates are documented here: http://fedora.info/definitions/v4/rels-ext15:03
terrellt: we recently changed the default behavior to allow deleting an object that had inbound links -- but that might not work with the alpha5 that's bundled in hydra-jetty15:06
you can download an alpha6 snapshot from sonatype: https://oss.sonatype.org/index.html#nexus-search;gav~org.fcrepo~fcrepo-webapp15:08
<terrellt>escowles++
Having trouble parsing this relationship stuff in AF8. There seems to be an internal graph on the object that it's querying, but where is it?15:22
<escowles>i don't know -- i thought it was just using the graph from the LDP response -- maybe cbeer knows?15:24
<pivotal-bot>Andrew Woods estimated "Refactor kernel/kernel-api names and packages" as 2 points https://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/7071858215:29
<terrellt>escowles: Any chance something changed with response["type"] in alpha 6?15:36
<escowles>terrellt: i'm assuming that maps to rdf:type -- i think we made a change to the LDP types that get assigned, so objects are now http://www.w3.org/ns/ldp#DirectContainer15:38

<terrellt>Alright, new bug, and it might be Fedora side.16:04
I'm going to talk AF8, pretend it's predicates.16:05
If I create an object, associate it with another object (in this case, book belongs_to library), then delete the library first, and THEN the book, SOMETIMES I get a 412 etag mismatch16:06
Not always.
Occasionally.
If I delete the book first the world is happy.
This is alpha6
<escowles>so the 412 could be caused when deleting the library alters the book's etag (because the inbound link isn't there?) -- but i'm not sure why that would only happen sometimes16:08
<awoods>I assume this is an automated test?16:10
<terrellt>Yes16:11
I'm bouncing through pry and checking etags now.
So yeah, that's why the 412. The etag only changes sometimes though.16:13
Oh16:14
It's not deleting the library that's changing it16:15
Oh16:31
Updates return a new etag it looks like?
<escowles>yes, updates should have the new etag and last-modified headers set16:32

<escowles>i think you didn't need to register them -- you could just put anything before a colon and it would accept it18:38
<terrellt>In Alpha 5?
<escowles>now it'll generate an error (hopefully 400 Bad Request) if the namespace isn't assigned a URI
<terrellt>Yeah, that's what I'm getting.18:39
<escowles>i thought that was true a long time ago -- at least since late last year when the big shift to RDF happened
<terrellt>Coulda sworn there were other specs doing this18:40

<terrellt>So when I POST to create a new asset and it builds a whole sequence of folders, then I delete the item, it leaves that whole supporting structure.
Is there a clean way to eat that up?
<escowles>hmm... i don't think so -- you wouldn't want to delete the top level, because that would also delete any other resources in that tree if they were there18:43

<escowles>it's not ready for the beta, but we're working on hiding those auto-generated folders, so objects would just look like they were at the top level (and still perform like they were in the sub-folders)18:44
so i wouldn't lose too much sleep over leaving those folders around
<terrellt>It just makes telling if my tests are leaving data around difficult.
Can I make them generate into a named test folder and then nuke that whole folder at the beginning?18:45
<escowles>yes, you could just create a new folder and put your objects under that, and then delete the top-level folder at the end18:46
<terrellt>To do that I'd have to always PUT, correct?
To some place, and name my objects
<escowles>well, you could do that, or you could just POST to /rest/ and then use the auto-generated folder as the base for the others18:47
